Grab barsHandyMangum Facility Solutions
HandyMangum Facility Solutions offers small accessibility installs for businesses, installed to ADA guidelines: restroom accessories moved or mounted at accessible heights, grab bars, tactile restroom and room signs, lever door hardware and closer adjustments. We install to your plan or your consultant's report; we do not certify or inspect buildings for compliance.
Under the ADA, existing businesses are expected to remove barriers where it is "readily achievable", meaning easy to do without much difficulty or expense. Many of those fixes are small installs: a grab bar, a lower mirror, a soap dispenser in reach, a sign with raised letters and Braille, a lever instead of a knob, a door closer that does not take a shove to open.
Bigger changes, such as resizing a restroom, moving a toilet or adding a ramp, usually need a design professional, a permit and licensed trades. We focus on the installs and tell you when something is beyond them.

It depends on when the building was built or altered and what work you are doing. Common items include grab bars at 33 to 36 inches, a toilet seat at 17 to 19 inches, accessories and the mirror within reach, clear floor space, lever hardware and tactile signage. An architect or accessibility consultant can tell you what applies; we install the items to ADA guidelines.
