Battery replacement
The most common fix for a unit that fails the test.
HandyMangum Facility Solutions
Exit signs and emergency lights run on backup batteries that wear out, and failed units are a common fire-inspection finding. HandyMangum Facility Solutions can test units, replace batteries and lamps, and swap failed exit signs and emergency lights for new LED units, then retest them, for offices, stores, clinics and community buildings across Central Florida. New circuits and wiring changes are done by licensed electricians.
Most exit signs and emergency light units have a test button and a battery that typically lasts a few years. When the battery fails, the unit may still light on normal power but will not stay on in an outage, which is what an inspector checks.
The usual fix is a new battery or lamp, or a like-for-like replacement unit on the existing circuit. We test every unit we touch and list what we did, so you have a record for your next inspection.
